I am an American Mason. presently living in Iraq.  There are some of us here, who would like to establish a lodge for military and civilian men here on this military base.  Is it possible to obtain a charter from The Grand Lodge of Turkey, to establish a Mas0nic lodge here in Iraq.  Please respond!

I would not try that. Turkish Grand Lodge has some scrict rules and it would be so hard to gain access to those what you want. I personally think, they are not going to response. But of course, its all up to you.

The reason, Turkish Masonry is not so much open to public is because they are based on the Anglo-Sakson Masonry. Also %95 of Turkish population are Muslims. When it comes to explain somethings about Masonry in Turkey, there are those fanatic religious groups to deal with usually. That is why Turkish Masonry still like to keep things behind closed doors.
